Someone showed me this Friday, and I nearly wept with laughter and embarrassment: this is an ad for my very first computer.

Yeah, that’s right! 128 KB of memory, and a 16-bit processor. (Take that, Nintendo of 1985!) It runs cartridge programs, and it only weighs as much as a refrigerator. For a mere $1000, how can you beat it? How, I ask you?

Well, it’s called a “PCjr,” so you can probably beat it with the PCsr, for starters. But oh, how I loved it. I played my Black Cauldron Sierra game and programmed in BASIC like a mofo, specifically a mofo who gets beat up a lot but not nearly enough.
