County Exec “My Name Was Not Actually Buzz” Westfall, devoted public servant, died the other day of a staph infection, which went undetected because he was already on pain pills.

Hey, kids! Prescription drugs: Yay!!!

(I am a pragmatist. Still, sometimes, I think a heavily customized Christian Science might be for me.)

Idiocy du jour:

Speculation about how sick Westfall was and how he contracted the staph infection that led to his death Monday was fueled by a lack of public information, says pollster and author Ken Warren.

Keeping information from the public has “a downside,” he said. “It causes unnecessary speculation.”

“That speculation is unfair to him and his family,” Warren said of Westfall. “And that is exactly why our presidents, by and large, have disclosed, almost totally, their health care records, to the minute details of how many hemorrhoids were removed.

Yes, very detailed health disclosure. I imagine JFK would be interested to hear that. As would be the many, many back doctors who lied for him, and the dozens of hookers he hired.)

(thanks, http://www.stltoday.com , for years of reliably customized bullshit! Historical fact? Why start now??)
