DATING, NOT DEBATING: None other than Bill Haas, would-be St. Louis Public School board reformer, Yale and Harvard Law School grad and prolific e-mailer, has the inside track to write a dating advice column for the Riverfront Times. Haas has pitched a column idea to RFT editor Tom Finkel, who said Thursday that he’s received the pitch and isn’t sure yet what he’s going to do about it. “Bill Haas has spirit. It would be foolish of me not to consider his proposal,” Finkel said. Haas, 59, a Cleveland native, has never been married. He has a 14-year-old son, Tony, who lives in St. Louis with his mother. When Haas ran an unsuccessful campaign for St. Louis mayor in 1996, he advertised for a “financially secure wife” to help finance the campaign. Haas says he would bring his high EQ (emotional quotient) to the column.
