“Access Hollywood” has named its “Top Ten Stars of 2004,” with Britney Spears in the No. 1 spot. The rankings are based on the number of stories “Access Hollywood” aired on each star.

I am working on collecting my thoughts on 2004 in a manner suitable for public consumption. What I have now (which I have already been noodling with for a week) is so meandering and unwieldy that it may be 2006 before it is fit to see the light of day. Even categorizing the year and writing a separate vignette for each category has resulted in a dozen run-on, twenty page “vignettes.” That’s why you’re supposed to write your diary as it all happens, children.
