Daniel,
I tried to find something out about the show you mentioned by doing a quick search online. A savy search, on goolgle. The first web site I found described the show in the following way:
The show, working under the title “Survival of the Richest,” would take young adults who “come from money,” as the saying goes, and send them to work for six weeks doing actual work, be it manual labor or paper-pushing, for far less than the allowance they get from their trust funds. The producers are also looking for parents hoping to teach their kids to appreciate what they have.
After what you read of my situation in 1998, does this sound like me to you? The closest thing I ever had to a trust fund was when my mom gave me $10 and trusted me to buy gas with it. My dad drove a 1979 Buick Regal until I was ten years old. Saying I “come from money” would be like saying William Hung’s success comes from American Idol; it’s not so much a lie as it is a very, very bad misunderstanding. And as for the part about doing actual work…? Yeah, you really need to read the other six years of entries. Thanks, though!

Seriously: what the f—?? Dude wrote me that after reading the stories I wrote while living in a $300-a-month apartment across the alley from a White Castle.
