pointed out to me earlier:

Pope John Paul II, who is such a player on history’s stage that (it turns out) he once had an attempt on his life outsourced by the KGB, has been under the weather lately. So far under the weather, in fact, that he has been “receiving nutrition nasally” through a feeding tube. Besides forcing me to think about euphemisms as well as ponder the implications of phrases like “receiving nutrition nasally,” this story has gotten the attention of the fine St. Louis Post-Dispatch. The P-D is where I read about this new development. Below is the photo they thought was most appropriate to accompany the story.

pope

That is the absolute best they could do. Tomorrow, the man could be dead, and that would be the last photo of him that the Post-Dispatch ran of him in life. Could they not get the rights to the one of him and the breakdancers?
