TOXIC CLOUD HEADED DOWNTOWN
Leaders Reassure Public:
‘We Have No Idea What Is Going On’

Authorities were looking for the source of a mysterious odor moving from the Metro East into downtown St. Louis and beyond.

Laclede Gas officials said they began receiving calls at 7:45 a.m. from north St. Louis city about a gas odor.

“It’s a foreign odor that seems to be traveling north along the river from downtown,” said George Csolak, a spokesman for Laclede.

Csolak said Laclede workers checked lines through the morning, but did not find a leak. He said the odor smells more like kerosene.

“We’re not sure what the smell is, but we don’t think it’s natural gas,” he said.

gas or kerosene, a match or two should fix the problem. ;)

Perhaps a little gift from one of the fine companies in Sauget. I’m anxiously awaiting news as to whether this turns anyone into a superhero with extra-human capabilities. “Look at me, I’m Cancer Man!”
