I was delighted this morning to hear that the FBI has set up a web site where average citizens can report government corruption. “If you come across evidence of public corruption activities,” the site says, you can just e-mail the FBI a tip.

So, my question is this: how many tips will they get (from people besides me) that are along the lines of,
Dear FBI:
I have it on good authority that Roy Blunt is in the pocket of the tobacco lobby and tried to attach a completely irrelevant pro-tobacco rider to the Patriot Act for some reason. Follow the money. Also, I’m pretty sure that a member of the executive branch has been illegally collecting my phone records and believes that several dozen important laws do not apply to him. I suspect this same official of sending several thousand G.I.s to their deaths over an Oedipal grudge. I don’t want to say too much over an unsecured line, but his name rhymes with Forge Mush; you might want to check it out.
