Last night was one I won’t soon forget; at about 7:00, something oddly dark caught my eye through a crack in the window blinds, and when I looked out the window I was greeted by a portable apocalypse that, needless to say, no local meteorologist had mentioned. Minutes later, the construction site next to our house got up, excused itself, and left the area at eighty miles an hour.

The worst power outages in the history of electricity on the hottest day of the year. One hundred and ten! It’s not too late to move here! We have parts of a new house right next door. And all over the street. And a block away.

More than 300,000 people are in the dark and hot today, but my site was down for a mere 12 hours. Fear my power.

Of course, I’m pretty sure it’ll go down again this week. But that time it’ll be because the box it lives in is being unplugged and moved. So be on the lookout for that.
