When g-man Eliot Ness and Al Capone faced off in Chicago during Prohibition, they were 26 and 29 years old.
As a young man, President Grover Cleveland was sent to fight for the Union in the Civil War. He responded to the call by paying a Polish immigrant $150 to take his place. Every article you read about this will immediately mention that doing this was perfectly legal at the time, but none of them ever mentions whether the Polish guy was killed in the war.
Right now, it is just about midnight in Pakistan. Somewhere out in the country as I write this, Osama bin Laden is getting ready for bed, maybe at a camp site, maybe at a friend’s house. He is saying his goodnights right now. His sleep will not be restless.

There’s this theory I’ve been testing, the theory being “Nobody ever looks at that damn site, and if you never updated it again nobody would notice until the neighbors started complaining about the smell.” You have refuted this theory. The experiment over, you may expect to hear more from me shortly.
